Massad Boulos: Final Text for Sudan Peace Agreement Reached
Washington - Mashaweer
Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for African and Arab Affairs, announced that the final text of the peace agreement for Sudan has been reached in coordination with the Quad Committee.
The announcement followed intensive negotiations, with Boulos confirming that the final document is acceptable to both parties involved in the conflict.
He explained that “the agreement primarily aims to achieve a humanitarian truce and open safe corridors for the flow of urgent humanitarian aid to affected areas.”
Boulos also revealed that the United Nations has already established a practical mechanism to ensure the withdrawal of fighters from both sides from specific “hot zones” to prepare for relief operations, accelerate implementation, and internationalize the agreement.
Finally, Boulos noted that the document will be formally submitted to the UN Security Council for consideration as soon as the members of the Quad Committee complete the ratification process.
