Hamdok: No Military Solution to the Conflict; The Way Out is a Truce and Sustainable Peace in Sudan

A meeting was held this morning (Tuesday) at the British Parliament buildings in London between a delegation from the “Sumoud” Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces, led by Alliance Chairman Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, and members of the House of Lords, Baroness Joyce Anelay and Lord David Alton.
The “Sumoud” delegation presented the developing situation in Sudan amid escalating armed confrontations and a worsening humanitarian crisis.
Dr. Hamdok emphasized that there is no military solution to the conflict in Sudan, stating that the best and fastest way out is the establishment of a humanitarian truce and reaching a political solution that lays the foundation for a sustainable peace.
The members of the House of Lords expressed their solidarity with the Sudanese people in their ordeal. They declared their intention to highlight the Sudanese cause and urge the British government to play a more effective role in ending the war and bringing peace to Sudan.
