Sisi and Erdogan: Call for Humanitarian Truce and Permanent Ceasefire in Sudan

Within the framework of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, Egypt and Turkey discussed the ongoing crisis in Sudan and expressed deep concern over the continuation of the conflict.
The joint statement noted that both countries renew their call for a humanitarian truce and a permanent ceasefire, to be followed by a political process consisting of a comprehensive national dialogue.
Both nations reaffirmed their unwavering support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and independence, while rejecting any attempts to establish parallel governing structures.
They also emphasized their support for regional and international efforts aimed at finding a political exit strategy that would end the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The statement highlighted the urgent need to ensure unhindered humanitarian access to those in need within Sudan and in neighboring countries, stressing the importance of establishing safe corridors to facilitate aid delivery and protect civilians.
