United Nations: “Rapid Support Forces” Committed Atrocities in El Fasher

Khartoum - Mashaweer

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights stated today (Friday) that violations by the “Rapid Support Forces” (RSF) in Sudan during the takeover of the city of El Fasher amount to war crimes and potential crimes against humanity.

A report published by the Commission stated that the RSF committed widespread atrocities reaching the level of war crimes and potential crimes against humanity.

Since El Fasher fell to the Rapid Support Forces in October 2025, more than 120,000 people have fled the city to escape the threat of summary executions, kidnapping, and sexual violence.

Last week, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) warned of the spreading risk of famine across 20 areas in North Darfur amidst fragile conditions, the obstruction of aid, and the collapse of infrastructure.
