Return of 1.3 Million Displaced Persons to Khartoum Amid Warnings of Ongoing Crisis Without Sufficient Resources
Khartoum - Mashaweer
Khartoum State in Sudan has recorded the return of more than 1.3 million displaced persons, marking the largest wave of returns since the outbreak of the war in Sudan.
The United Nations has warned that the displacement crisis will persist without adequate resources and renewed peace efforts.
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, has directed that efforts be intensified to stabilize services during the month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health announced the distribution of “Ramadan baskets” to employees, even as millions of Sudanese continue to suffer from a severe food crisis.
