The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the collapse of the health system in Sudan in light of continued attacks that are causing the deaths of health workers and patients.
The WHO stated in a post on the platform (X) that “attacks continue on the health sector, pushing the health system in Sudan to the brink of collapse.”
It pointed out that “these attacks are causing the death and injury of patients and health workers, in addition to damaging facilities.”
The WHO needs $97.7 million during the current year to help 20.4 million people, including 4.9 million displaced persons. Additionally, 8.1 million women and girls of reproductive age require urgent reproductive health services in 2026.
