Deteriorating living conditions for Sudanese refugees in Chad
Adré - Mashaweer
Sudanese refugees in camps in eastern Chad are facing severe living hardships during the month of Ramadan due to a reduction in aid provided by humanitarian organizations.
Adel Atar, a refugee in the Abtengui camp in the city of Adré, reported that the World Food Programme (WFP) has cut the monthly support allocated to refugees.
He explained that this year, the organization allocated 1,600 Chadian Francs per person, distributed only once every two months.
He noted that these measures have had a negative impact on the lives of refugees, particularly during Ramadan.
He added that youth initiatives and Chadian national organizations have contributed to filling the gap by providing meals to families.
