Death of 9 People, Including 3 Children, in South Kordofan Mine Explosion

Nine people, including three children traveling in a tuk-tuk, were killed following the explosion of an anti-tank mine on a road in South Kordofan, central Sudan.
A medical source at Al-Abbasiya Hospital told Agence France-Presse (AFP): “Nine people, including three children, were killed following a landmine explosion while they were in the tuk-tuk.”
Witness Abdul Baqi Issa stated that the vehicle was turned into “metal wreckage.”
He added, “We were traveling behind the tuk-tuk on the road leading to the market when we heard the sound of an explosion. People fell, and the tuk-tuk was destroyed.”
