Arrival of vaccines in South Kordofan after a three-year hiatus
Kadugli - Mashaweer
Save the Children has announced the delivery of vaccines to South Kordofan for the first time in three years, in preparation for the start of immunization services.
In a statement, Save the Children said it delivered the first shipment of vaccines to South Kordofan in nearly three years to restore life-saving immunization services for children and communities who have been deprived of essential supplies due to conflict and blockade.
It noted that two trucks carrying 18 metric tons, containing 11 essential vaccines as part of the routine immunization program, arrived in the city of Kadugli over the weekend.
The organization reported that the shipment carried vaccines for tuberculosis and oral polio, in addition to the pentavalent vaccine, which provides protection against five deadly childhood diseases, including diphtheria, tetanus, and hepatitis.
