OCHA: Security situation in Darfur region continues to deteriorate
North Darfur - Mashaweer
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that the security situation throughout the Darfur region continues to deteriorate as violence escalates.
The office added that the 2026 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan, which was launched in February, has only been funded at just over 15 percent, limiting the scale-up of life-saving assistance.
Displaced people in the Tawila area are suffering from food, medicine, and healthcare shortage crises, in addition to shelter problems resulting from the increasing numbers of people fleeing the hell of fighting.
In light of the deteriorating security conditions, civilians are being subjected to grave violations on the roads and in some cities and areas.
