Drone attacks between the SAF and the RSF… and dozens of dead and wounded in the Darfur region

Khartoum - Mashaweer

A drone belonging to the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) bombed the general hospital in the city of Ed Daein in East Darfur on the evening of the first day of Eid al-Fitr, leading to the death of at least 39 people and injuring dozens, according to a report by the “Tasees” coalition, which is loyal to the Rapid Support Forces.

The coalition accused the army, in a press statement today (Saturday), of being behind the airstrike that hit the Ed Daein Teaching Hospital, causing dozens of civilian casualties, the majority of whom were women and children.

The statement said that at least 39 people were killed, including 12 children and 6 women, as a result of the drone bombing that targeted the children’s and women’s wards, while the number of wounded reached more than 78, most of whom have very serious injuries.

The statement mentioned: “Operations to recover victims from under the rubble of the destroyed hospital are still ongoing amid extremely complex humanitarian conditions.”

Furthermore, 23 people were killed and 35 others were injured in a simultaneous airstrike that targeted the market of El Fasher in the north of the Darfur region. Rescue and counting operations are still underway, according to the “Tasees” coalition statement, which promised a harsh and decisive response proportionate to the scale of this crime.

Drones belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had launched intensive attacks late Friday evening on sites in the city of Al Dabba in the north of the country, leading to a power outage in the city.

These raids came a few hours after similar attacks launched on the morning of the same day on the city, targeting a power station and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Dongola, which caused three people to suffer various minor injuries.
