The Al-Shuqaylab area in the Jebel Aulia locality, south of the Sudanese capital, witnessed a series of armed robbery and looting incidents last night (Monday), carried out by a group of armed individuals, which resulted in injuries among residents and caused a state of anxiety in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the gang moved between 11:00 PM and 2:00 AM, targeting houses located along “Silk Street” reaching the “Al-Qasira” and “Umm Haraz” areas, where its members used weapons to threaten families and loot their property.
Residents reported that some houses were completely looted, while a number of citizens who tried to resist or were attacked during the break-ins sustained injuries.
