An international coalition holds weapons suppliers responsible for targeting civilians in Sudan

London - Mashaweer

The “Preventing Atrocities and Achieving Justice in Sudan” coalition condemned the bombing of Al Daein Hospital and the increase in attacks on civilian objects, blaming arms suppliers for the consequences of targeting civilians.

The coalition said, in a statement, “Those who facilitate violations in Sudan by transferring weapons, including drones, must realize the consequences of their actions towards civilians.”

He pointed out that “members of the coalition express their overwhelming collective anger and deep sadness over the killing of civilians following horrific drone strikes that targeted Al Daein Hospital in East Darfur on March 20.”

The statement said, “The attack on Al Daein Hospital is not an isolated incident, as there is a clear pattern of attacks by all parties to the conflict targeting people and protected objects, which has a devastating impact on civilians.”

He stressed that the attacks are hampering humanitarian and health operations, disrupting livelihood activities and vital markets, exacerbating an acute situation of food insecurity in some parts of the country.
