Sudan Doctors: 14 Killed, Including 5 Children, in Shelling of Al-Dalang
Al-Dalang – Mashawir
The Sudan Doctors Network announced today (Sunday) that 14 people were killed, including 5 children and two women, and 23 others were injured as a result of shelling by the Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM-N (led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu) on the city of Al-Dalang in South Kordofan State.
In a statement, the network said that the attacks targeted civilian residential areas, leading to this high number of casualties, amid extremely complex humanitarian and health conditions and a shortage of medical personnel.
It added that the city has been subjected to intense shelling for the second consecutive day, coinciding with attacks by the Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM-N around Al-Dalang, which had only recently emerged from a siege that lasted more than two years. This has further increased human losses and worsened the suffering of residents.
The network strongly condemned what it described as a dangerous escalation and systematic targeting of civilians, calling it a blatant violation of international laws.
It also urged the international community and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to stop these violations and to provide urgent protection for civilians.
