United Nations: Rising Attacks in Sudan Disrupt Humanitarian and Commercial Supply Routes

The United Nations has stressed the need to halt attacks against civilians and critical infrastructure in Sudan.
It emphasized that all parties must ensure rapid, safe, and unimpeded humanitarian access to people in need across the country.
UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq told journalists in New York that “the attacks witnessed in recent days have resulted in civilian casualties, both killed and injured, across various parts of the country, particularly in the Kordofan states.”
Haq noted that the main roads linking the city of El Obeid in North Kordofan with the towns of Al-Dilling and Kadugli in South Kordofan have become increasingly insecure, disrupting the movement of humanitarian and commercial supplies.
He added that “bureaucratic complications are further exacerbating these challenges, as essential medical activities in the city of El Obeid have now been suspended for nearly a mont.
