Damazin – Mashawir
The United Nations has revealed that the conflict in Blue Nile State has led to new waves of displacement during the month of March.
Local sources indicated that at least 4,000 people have fled to Ethiopia, while others have been displaced within Blue Nile State itself.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that the United Nations is working with its partners to scale up the humanitarian response. The Sudanese Red Crescent Society is providing hot meals to families who have recently arrived in displacement areas.
Meanwhile, the Al-Rosires Emergency Room in the Blue Nile region has dispatched a comprehensive aid convoy to displaced people from Al-Kurmuk locality at Al-Karama (3) center, as part of the humanitarian response to the situation in the region.
According to the emergency room, the convoy carried food and non-food items to meet urgent needs.
It also affirmed the continuation of its humanitarian interventions at an increasing pace to alleviate the suffering of displaced people and to address humanitarian gaps caused by the ongoing conflict in the region.
