Democratic Unionist Gathering: April 6 is a Renewed Symbol of Sudanese Resistance

Bahri – Mashawir

The Democratic Unionist Gathering Party affirmed that April 6 will remain a renewed symbol of the Sudanese people’s resistance, and evidence that the path of struggle extends from the April 1985 uprising to the December Revolution, and will not stop regardless of the intensity of conspiracies and growing challenges.
In a statement issued today (Monday), the party commemorated the anniversary of April 6, describing it as an immortal day in the conscience of Sudanese people and a symbol of victory over dictatorships. It recalled that the launched its glorious uprising in 1985 and overthrew the authoritarian May regime, confirming its ability to break chains and shape the future.
The statement noted that the same meanings were renewed on April 6, 2019, when masses headed toward the General Command, announcing a historic sit-in that embodied Sudanese unity and paved the way for the fall of the Salvation regime, making the day a bridge between the uprising and the December Revolution.
The Democratic Unionist Gathering accused forces of the former regime of continuing to conspire against the December Revolution and undermine its course, culminating in the October 25 coup in an attempt to steal the sacrifices of the masses. It added that this destructive path reached its peak with the outbreak of the April 15, 2023 war, which tore the country apart, displaced millions, destroyed infrastructure, and plunged the country into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
