UN Condemns Killing of Dozens in Drone Strike in North Darfur

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has condemned the killing of dozens of civilians in a drone strike that targeted a wedding in the town of Kutum in North Darfur.

Reports indicate that the attack resulted in the deaths of at least 30 civilians, including women and children, after a drone struck a wedding gathering.

During the UN’s daily press briefing, spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric strongly condemned all attacks against civilians.

He stressed that the use of drones against civilians and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable, underscoring the obligation to protect civilians and civilian objects in accordance with international humanitarian law.
