Half a million Sudanese students sit for secondary school exams

Khartoum – Mashawir

The first session of the Sudanese secondary school certificate exams began on Monday in areas under army control, while exams in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces are scheduled to start next June.

A total of 564,000 male and female students are taking part in Monday’s exams, distributed across 3,333 centers inside and outside Sudan, including 156,000 students in Khartoum State.

With around 280,000 students unable to sit for the exams in the five Darfur states and parts of Kordofan under Rapid Support Forces control, the Ministry of Education has pledged to organize alternative exams on May 13 for those who missed the current session.
