US Representative to the Security Council: Sudan Needs a Humanitarian Truce to Ease Civilian Suffering

The US representative to the UN Security Council said that Sudan needs a humanitarian truce to ease the suffering of civilians.
“We are working to organise an inclusive political dialogue involving the parties to the conflict in Sudan,” he added.
He stressed that the Security Council should support a political process aimed at reaching a settlement that preserves Sudan’s unity.
“The threat of famine is looming over Sudan, and we must confront this danger,” he added.
