UK Foreign Secretary: What Is Happening in Sudan Is the World’s Biggest Humanitarian Tragedy

British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said, “We cannot ignore what is happening in Sudan; it is the world’s biggest humanitarian tragedy.”
He added, “Civilians have suffered greatly in El Fasher, and women have been subjected to horrific sexual violence.”
He explained that “starvation and rape have been used as weapons in Sudan.”
Miliband continued, “Today, we decided to sanction leaders and fighters accused of committing atrocities in El Fasher.”
He concluded, “Britain reiterates its call for an end to the war and for an end to any external assistance to either side in the fighting.”
