The Khartoum State government decided on Tuesday to ban celebrations and protest demonstrations, instructing security forces to deal with them decisively.
In a statement, the Khartoum State Security Committee said that during its meeting today, the committee decided to ban New Year’s celebrations in halls, clubs, and resorts.
The committee also decided to prohibit protest demonstrations and to refrain from granting permits for such activities, while issuing instructions to respond to them firmly. The meeting praised the seizures made by joint patrols and the security cordon that covered wide areas of Khartoum’s localities.
Several areas of Khartoum State are experiencing notable security fragility due to the spread of criminal groups that intimidate civilians. In response, security authorities are making intensive efforts to restore order and combat negative phenomena.
