In the French capital, Paris, a delegation from the “Somoud” Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces, led by Alliance Chairman Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, held a meeting with the French Institute of International Relations.

Babiker Faisal, a member of the delegation and head of the Alliance’s Foreign Relations Committee, stated that the meeting reviewed “Somoud’s” vision for stopping the war, achieving peace, and establishing sustainable democratic civilian rule.

He added that the meeting touched upon the efforts of the “Quartet Mechanism” and the necessity of its success, as well as the importance of linking the truce and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the political track.

During the meeting, “Somoud” presented its vision for a political process under the umbrella of the African Union and its international and regional partners, led by the United Nations, the European Union, IGAD, and the Arab League.

According to Faisal, the meeting also addressed the stance on the Muslim Brotherhood and its political fronts in Sudan, highlighting their roles in obstructing peace and the necessity of designating them as a terrorist group.

The “Somoud” delegation reiterated its condemnation of all negative foreign interventions that exacerbate the war. They also highlighted the repercussions of the armed conflict and the resulting humanitarian crisis, currently the largest in the world, which necessitates exerting maximum pressure on the warring parties to bring it to an end.
