During the meeting, the delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the current political and humanitarian landscape in Sudan. They highlighted the scale of human rights violations and suffering, as well as the implications of the continued conflict on regional and international stability. They also discussed the expected German and European roles in supporting efforts to stop the war and establish peace.

The meeting discussed key issues:

Supporting “Quartet” efforts to secure an immediate and unconditional humanitarian ceasefire.

The importance of designating the National Congress Party (NCP) and its Islamic movement as terrorist organizations, citing their roles in obstructing peace and destabilizing the region.

The desired role of the German Parliament in highlighting the dimensions of the Sudanese crisis and its international repercussions if the conflict persists.

For their part, the German Parliament members expressed their alignment with these views. They affirmed their intention to bring the issue of the war in Sudan for further discussion within the Parliament to formulate measures that enhance the effectiveness of the German position, both nationally and within the European Union framework.

The parliamentarians emphasized the importance of preparing for the post-war phase and building a future strategic partnership between Germany and Sudan. They reiterated their support for civil democratic forces, the resumption of the democratic transition path, and the rejection of militarization and coups to ensure sustainable peace and stability in Sudan.
