Massad Boulos calls on warring parties in Sudan to accept immediate humanitarian truce

Washington - Mashaweer

Massad Boulos, the Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for African and Arab Affairs, called on the warring parties in Sudan today (Monday) to accept a humanitarian truce immediately and without preconditions.

In a post on his “X” platform account, Boulos urged the Sudanese parties to immediately accept the humanitarian truce, supported by a UN-established mechanism, without preconditions, to allow life-saving aid to reach civilians and to create space for dialogue.

He emphasized that his country is working with its partners for a just and lasting peace, stressing the commitment to holding those responsible accountable and supporting a credible transition to a civilian government.

He added, “The people of Sudan deserve security, dignity, and a future free from fear. We stand by them in their pursuit of the lasting peace they deserve.”

He further stressed that the United States will not tolerate atrocities or other gross violations under any circumstances.
