SPLM–Revolutionary Democratic Faction: Forming Another Government Will Prolong the War and Create a Libyan-Style Scenario

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – Revolutionary Democratic Faction, led by Yasir Saeed Arman, stated that “the announcement of another government to rival the Port Sudan government will only prolong the war and create a Libyan, Yemeni, or Somali-style scenario.”

In a statement, the movement reaffirmed its commitment to suspending its activities within the General Secretariat of the Sumood alliance, emphasizing that what truly serves the Sudanese people is ending the war, moving toward sustainable peace, building a unified national army, and removing Islamists from the security sector.

It stressed the need for civil forces to unite in a broad and cohesive bloc before entering the political process, to ensure that it aligns with the revolution’s agenda rather than that of the former regime’s remnants.
