The United Nations announced that tens of thousands of Sudanese civilians have fled towns and villages in North Kordofan State, following the takeover of the city of El Fasher in the Darfur region by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) a week ago.
In a statement, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that more than 36,000 people have fled from five towns and villages in North Kordofan, located east of Darfur, where RSF forces took control last week.
According to the United Nations, the war in Sudan has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced millions, and caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis at present.
