The United Nations announced that more than 65,000 people have fled the city of El Fasher since it was captured by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
According to the UN, tens of thousands remain trapped inside the city, while in the past five days, the town of Tawila has received over 5,000 newly displaced people. Thousands of others are stranded in the Korni area, located 13 kilometers from El Fasher, including the sick, wounded, and children separated from their families.
At the entrance of Tawila, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has set up a medical center providing emergency and surgical services to treat the injured — most of whom suffer from gunshot wounds and torture-related injuries.
