Somoud” Coalition Discusses Sudan Peace Efforts with German Foreign Ministe

A delegation from the Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces “Somoud”, led by Abdalla Hamdok, met in Berlin with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Johann Wadephul, and the Minister of State at the German Foreign Ministry, Ms. Serap Güler, to discuss efforts to end the war and bring peace to Sudan.

The German Foreign Minister received the “Somoud” delegation, which included: Abdalla Hamdok (Head of delegation), Babiker Faisal (Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee), Bakry El-Jack (Official Spokesperson), Khalid Omer Yousif (Member of the Executive Office), Walid Al-Raih and Balqis Faisal (Leaders of the Somoud branch in Germany)

The German Minister warmly welcomed the visit, expressing his hope for a swift end to the conflict.

The meeting focused on German and European efforts aimed at stopping the war in Sudan, as well as coordination with the Quartet Committee, which represents the most regionally and internationally consensus-backed solution.

The German Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s support and the German government’s high-level commitment to actively participating in ending the wartime catastrophe. They also discussed Germany’s role in hosting the European Foreign Ministers’ Conference scheduled for next April.

Both parties emphasized that the upcoming conference must play a pivotal role in mitigating the humanitarian disaster and strengthening international efforts to achieve peace and stability.

The discussion, which lasted over an hour, was characterized by a high degree of political consensus regarding support for Sudan, the continuity of the democratic transition, mechanisms to ensure national stability, and the promotion of civil-democratic transformation.
