As clashes between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) escalate across the Kordofan states, the Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent reported on Friday that Jawaher Ahmed Suleiman, the Minister of Health for South Kordofan, survived a drone strike targeting her residence.
The correspondent clarified that the Minister’s home in the city of Kadugli was targeted by a drone belonging to the Rapid Support Forces.
Speaking to Al Arabiya/Al Hadath, Suleiman stated that her home was hit by three missiles launched from a drone during the late hours of Thursday night/Friday morning.
The Minister confirmed that “divine providence” saved her and her family members from the attack. The strike resulted in the complete destruction of her home. Suleiman described the attack as consistent with the tactics of the “RSF militia,” which she accused of targeting civilian homes and vital infrastructure.
Official Statement
Suleiman emphasized that these violations—targeting institutions, hospitals, schools, and even funeral tents—have become a “regular habit for the militias and their supporters.”
She concluded by asserting that she would not back down in the face of what she termed “terrorism and systematic violence” until the country is “cleared of militias.”
