The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate expressed its deep concern regarding the continued cases of enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention targeting journalists in the capital, as well as the Darfur region and Sennar State.
The Syndicate explained that it has monitored three cases of enforced disappearance and four cases of detention, some of which have lasted for long periods reaching a full year.
It considers these practices to be a clear violation of international law and human rights principles.
The Syndicate called for an urgent investigation to reveal the whereabouts of the detained journalists and for the immediate and unconditional release of all of them, while ensuring their physical and psychological safety.
