Ten civilians were killed and seven others were injured in a drone attack launched by the army on the Geneina Bus Station market in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, yesterday evening (Sunday). The attack also caused significant damage to traders’ property, according to the Civil Administration of South Darfur State.
The head of the Civil Administration in South Darfur State, Yusuf Idris Yusuf, strongly condemned the targeting of civilians in their homes and markets.
He emphasized that these actions contradict international conventions that prohibit the targeting of populated civilian areas.
He called on traders and citizens to continue their commercial activities safely.
