Data released by the International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Tracking Matrix revealed the displacement of approximately 132,693 people from the Kordofan region between October 25, 2025, and February 22, 2026, spread across 678 locations in 79 localities in Sudan.
The Kordofan region is witnessing a continuous security deterioration as a result of the expanding scope of confrontations between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces, particularly in the states of North and South Kordofan, which has led to waves of displacement in recent months.
The Displacement Matrix data showed that the majority of displaced people were registered in North Kordofan State with 30,605 displaced persons, followed by Khartoum State with 27,264, then White Nile State with 23,405, and South Kordofan State with 15,430.
In North Kordofan State, most of the displaced were concentrated in the localities of Sheikan, with 16,715 displaced persons, and El Rahad, with about 9,280.
