The Korma Emergency Room reported that a fire broke out in the city of Korma, North Darfur State, on Saturday, leading to the burning of 19 homes.
The Emergency Room explained that the fire affected the homes of displaced people as well as some houses of the host community, causing significant property damage and losses, though no loss of life was recorded.
It appealed to charitable entities and humanitarian organizations for urgent intervention to provide support and assistance to the families affected by the fire.
In South Darfur State, a fire broke out at the Babanusa camp in Graida locality, west of the Abuja market and east of Sheikh Ali Ahmed Yunus Mosque, resulting in major property losses.
The fire led to the destruction of 30 homes according to preliminary statistics. Also in South Darfur, a fire broke out on Friday at the Darraba mine, causing significant property damage.
Wide areas of Darfur and Kordofan witness annual fires during this season, leading to losses of life and property.
