The Nawa Women’s Emergency Response Room in Kadugli, South Kordofan State, has implemented the “Dignity Kit” project for pregnant women affected by the war and displacement, targeting 120 women as part of humanitarian initiatives aimed at addressing essential needs and promoting women’s health and dignity.
The project seeks to provide pregnant women with essential supplies during pregnancy and in preparation for childbirth, helping to ease the burden on beneficiary families and improve the conditions of pregnant women amid the current humanitarian situation.
The project was implemented with support from the Coordination Council of Emergency Response Rooms in South Kordofan, as part of community-led initiatives aimed at supporting women and families and strengthening the resilience of affected communities.
Adel Sabri, a member of the South Kordofan Emergency Response Room, told Mashaweer that “the project represents an important intervention to address some of the basic needs of pregnant women.”
He noted that “supporting maternal health and ensuring safe preparation for childbirth must remain priorities in the humanitarian response, particularly given the challenges facing affected families.”
Sabri added that “the continuation of such initiatives requires expanding partnerships and securing additional support to reach the largest possible number of women most in need.”
