Berber – Mashaweer

The Qadiriyya Sufi order in the city of Berber, River Nile State, has announced its support for efforts aimed at ending the war and building peace in Sudan, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and communication among the various parties to reach a solution to the crisis.

This came during a meeting between Mohamed Taher, a representative of the Sudanese Initiative to End the War and Build Peace, and Sheikh Mohamed Haj Hamad Al-Jaali, Sheikh of the Qadiriyya order, at the Qadiriyya zawiya in Kadabas, west of Berber. The meeting discussed the peacebuilding efforts undertaken by the initiative, as well as the outcomes of its recent consultations on establishing a Sudanese mediation platform and the contacts it has held with several parties.

Mohamed Taher told Mashaweer that “Sheikh Mohamed Haj Hamad Al-Jaali welcomed various peace efforts and steps aimed at launching a Sudanese dialogue.”

He also noted the Sheikh’s “willingness to continue communicating with various parties in order to contribute to creating conditions conducive to a dialogue that can lead to a resolution of the crisis.”

Taher explained that “the meeting comes as part of the initiative’s efforts to establish a Sudanese mediation platform to support dialogue among the parties, with the aim of ending the war and laying the foundations for lasting peace.”
