Satellite Images Document Damage at Khartoum Airport Following Drone Attack

Khartoum – Mashawir

Recent satellite images have revealed the impact of a drone attack targeting Khartoum International Airport last Monday. The attack coincided with the resumption of the first direct flights operated by Airlines from Cairo after a suspension that lasted nearly three years, in a development accompanied by escalating tensions and Sudanese accusations against regional actors.

A visual comparison between satellite images taken on May 4 and those captured on May 2 shows clear signs of damage in the southern section of the airport.

The attack on Khartoum International Airport triggered a state of alert that led to the evacuation of the national radio and television headquarters after a drone was spotted flying above the area.

Despite the incident, the Ministry of Information confirmed that flight operations at Khartoum Airport would resume immediately after the completion of security procedures, adding that no human casualties were recorded.
