A field commander who defected from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) confirmed that the group is experiencing a state of rapid collapse and internal fragmentation, predicting further defections within its ranks.
The defected officer, Brigadier General Ali Rizq Allah, widely known as “Al-Safana,” said today, Saturday, that Hemedti was injured during battles near the General Command of the Sudanese Army in Khartoum. He added that the injury is widely known among tribal communities and predicted that defections would continue.
Al-Safana explained during a press conference held in Khartoum that “his forces will join the Sudanese Army and fight alongside it in battles to retake Kordofan and Darfur from the control of the Rapid Support Forces.”
He also stated that he is prepared to face accountability before the judiciary regarding the roles he played during the war, after acknowledging his participation in the capture of several areas in the Kordofan region while carrying out military orders that had been issued to him.
