Humanitarian Response to Support Displaced Families in Darfur Camps

Zalingei – Mashaweer

The Duraiba Center for Environmental Studies team registered 700 families across seven shelters, in addition to 900 families at the Al-Hasahisa displacement camp in Zalingei, Central Darfur State, as part of humanitarian response efforts to support communities affected by the crisis and displacement.

Volunteer activist Adam Hassan told Mashaweer that “the registration process aims to identify the families most affected by the humanitarian crisis, in preparation for providing assistance and non-food items to the targeted families.”

He added that “the project is being implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with support from the Sudan Humanitarian Fund, as part of efforts to strengthen the response to the humanitarian needs of families affected by displacement in Zalingei.”
