The cities of Dilling and Kadugli are witnessing a daily wave of displacement toward the city of Abu Jubayhah in South Kordofan State, marking one of the largest displacement surges the region has seen since the outbreak of the war.<\/h4>\n

According to activists in Abu Jubayhah, these internally displaced persons (IDPs), who arrive daily in large numbers, are facing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions and harsh suffering that accompanied their long journey, a journey surrounded by dangers and violations.<\/h4>\n

The activists reported that at least five “tractor-trailer” vehicles loaded with IDPs arrive daily in Abu Jubayhah from Dilling and Kadugli. This follows an arduous journey through areas controlled by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), into South Sudan via the Yida area, and then back through Talodi, Al-Taqola, and Kologi until finally reaching Abu Jubayhah.<\/h4>\n

They noted that the IDPs are being received temporarily within the Sudanese Red Crescent buildings in the city. While a large tent has been designated to shelter the new arrivals, its capacity is insufficient for the growing numbers. This forces many, including women and children, to take shelter under the shade of trees surrounding the site, in conditions that lack even the minimum requirements for humane housing.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
