The United Nations confirmed that it is working with its partners to expand the scope of food aid, rations, shelter materials, water, sanitation, and hygiene. However, critical gaps remain due to a lack of funding.<\/h4>\n

OCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) called for the necessity of providing additional funding to enable humanitarian partners to scale up life-saving assistance and reach more than 20 million people in need.<\/h4>\n

According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), nearly 3,000 people were displaced over four days in mid-January from the cities of Kadugli and Dilling in South Kordofan State.<\/h4>\n

Some of them headed toward areas in White Nile State, while both cities remain under siege amid continued fighting and worsening acute food insecurity.
