Drought and a severe drinking water crisis in the areas east of El Fasher have forced dozens of families to flee their villages in search of water sources.<\/h4>\n

Since late last month and the beginning of January, displacement camps in the Tawila locality have received new waves of families, the majority of whom fled due to the “thirst crisis” in the eastern countryside of El Fasher.<\/h4>\n

Community leaders explained that at least 50 families who recently arrived at the Tawila camps are still sleeping out in the open. They are facing a total lack of basic services and an absence of humanitarian organizations operating in the region.<\/h4>\n

Displacement Figures in White Nile State<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

In a related context, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner for White Nile State, Lamia Abdullah, revealed that the state is hosting more than 1,128,000 displaced persons living with host families and in private homes. Additionally, over 8,000 others are residing in the camps of G\u0648\u0632 Al-Salam, Tendelti, and Khor Ajwal.<\/h4>\n

Abdullah clarified that the state government and the Federal Humanitarian Aid Commission, in cooperation with international and national organizations, have implemented several humanitarian interventions.
