The Quintet Group has called for seizing the opportunity of the holy month of Ramadan to establish a humanitarian truce in Sudan. It urged all parties to the conflict to immediately reduce hostilities to allow for the protection of civilians and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.<\/h4>\n

This call came at the conclusion of a meeting held by the group on the sidelines of the African Union Summit. The group includes the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union, the League of Arab States, and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).<\/h4>\n

In a joint statement, the group expressed its deep concern over the continued escalation of the conflict in Sudan. It warned of the catastrophic consequences of the increasing use of destructive warfare, which has resulted in severe damage to civilians and civilian infrastructure.<\/h4>\n

The group called for an immediate halt to any further military escalation, emphasizing that the cost of the war is being paid primarily by the lives, livelihoods, and security of civilians.<\/h4>\n
