Saturday 14 February 2026 called on the world to intervene immediately to stop the war in Sudan and resolve the conflict between the army and the “Rapid Support Forces” (RSF), which has been ongoing for nearly three years.<\/h4>\n

The 39th African Union Summit commenced today in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, at the level of heads of state and government. The agenda focuses on the war in Sudan, terrorism in the African Sahel countries, and issues of security, energy, and water across the continent.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

Over the course of two days, the summit will discuss internal conflicts in Sudan and the Sahel countries, as well as the fight against cross-border terrorism.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

The speeches of most African presidents and heads of government turned into a platform to illustrate the magnitude of the Sudanese crisis, accompanied by calls for an immediate ceasefire between the conflicting parties.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

During a speech at the handover ceremony to his Burundian counterpart, the President of Angola and outgoing Chairperson of the African Union, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, emphasized a policy of zero tolerance toward coups on the continent.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

At the same time, he called for collective action to settle the conflict in Sudan, stating: “The sound of guns must be silenced in Africa, and effective solutions must be established for that, especially regarding the continent’s protracted conflicts.”<\/h4>\n
