The organization M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (Doctors Without Borders) has highlighted the escalating sexual violence in the Darfur region of western Sudan. In a recent report published on its website, it revealed widespread and systematic violations targeting women and girls since the outbreak of war in April 2023.<\/h4>\n

The report is based on testimonies from survivors and field medical data, documenting a recurring pattern of \u201cassaults used as a weapon of war to control civilians,\u201d amid the inability of thousands of victims to access care due to insecurity and the worsening humanitarian crisis.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

The report relied on firsthand testimonies from women who were subjected to sexual violence, as well as medical data collected by its field teams.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res accused soldiers of the Rapid Support Forces and affiliated militias of \u201ccarrying out systematic and widespread sexual violence.\u201d<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

It also stated that approximately 3,396 women who were subjected to sexual violence between January 2024 and November 2025 received treatment from its medical teams in North and West Darfur.<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

The organization added that \u201cthis figure represents only a fraction of the true scale of the violence, as many women are unable to safely reach locations where medical care is available.\u201d<\/h4>\n
