The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that \u201cSudan is currently facing one of the most severe humanitarian and public health emergencies in the world, with more than 33.7 million people\u2014over half of the country\u2019s population\u2014now in urgent need of life-saving assistance.\u201d<\/h4>\n

He added that \u201cthe organization urges the international community not to ignore Sudan, as the ongoing conflict has pushed the health system to the brink of total collapse, and recent attacks targeting medical facilities have further deepened the crisis.\u201d<\/h4>\n

He also pointed out that \u201ca drone strike on March 20 targeting Al-Daein Teaching Hospital in East Darfur State resulted in the deaths of at least 64 people, including patients and medical staff, and left another 89 injured.\u201d<\/h4>\n

He continued: \u201cThese incidents are a stark reminder of the urgent need to renew international solidarity and take decisive political and humanitarian action; Sudan cannot face this crisis alone.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
