{"id":59388,"date":"2026-10-17T15:57:42","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T15:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mashaweer-news.com\/?p=59388"},"modified":"2026-10-17T16:15:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T16:15:14","slug":"alarming-surge-in-dengue-fever-cases-in-tawila-warnings-of-a-health-catastrophe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mashaweer-news.com\/?p=59388","title":{"rendered":"Alarming Surge in Dengue Fever Cases in Tawila, Warnings of a Health Catastrophe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 dir=\"ltr\">The General Coordination of Displaced Persons and Refugees in the Darfur region announced on Friday that 927 cases of dengue fever had been recorded in the Tawila area of North Darfur State between September and 16 October, warning of a deteriorating health situation amid shortages of medicines and the closure of some health centres.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">The Coordination\u2019s official spokesperson, Adam Rijal, said the area was experiencing a growing number of patients and increasing pressure on Tawila Rural Hospital, while the health facilities that remain operational are suffering from shortages of medicines and medical supplies.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">He added that the health crisis was occurring alongside the spread of malaria, diarrhoeal diseases and malnutrition, particularly among children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, amid deteriorating living conditions caused by displacement, drought, hunger and food insecurity.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">Rijal noted that the Coordination\u2019s field teams were monitoring the health situation in collaboration with the medical centres still operating in the area.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">He warned that continued shortages of medicines, the closure of health centres and the limited humanitarian response could further worsen the crisis and increase the risk of serious health complications.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The General Coordination of Displaced Persons and Refugees in the Darfur region announced on Friday that 927 cases of dengue fever had been recorded in the Tawila area of North Darfur State between September and 16 October, warning of a deteriorating health situation amid shortages of medicines and the closure of some health centres.
