The British government announced on Monday that it had imposed sanctions on 15 military leaders from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces, over suspected involvement in committing atrocities during the siege of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.<\/h4>\n

In a statement, the British Foreign Office said the sanctions include travel bans and asset freezes, targeting officials suspected of involvement in abuses committed during the siege and fall of the city.<\/h4>\n

According to the statement, those sanctioned include Hussein Abu Jallak, an RSF commander reportedly linked to atrocities committed during the siege of El Fasher, as well as Al-Nour Ahmed Adam, known as \u201cAl-Nour Gubba,\u201d whom Britain said played a prominent role in the siege of the city.<\/h4>\n

The British Foreign Office explained that the measures followed the publication of investigations funded by the United Kingdom and conducted by the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR).
