Owners of private and commercial vehicles have been forced to queue for several days outside fuel stations in the hope of obtaining their allocated fuel supplies. The severe shortage has also led to a sharp increase in public transport and intercity travel fares.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">The Khartoum State Government has been compelled to introduce a series of measures and arrangements to ease the transportation crisis. These include increasing the fleet of buses operated by the state-owned transport company, calling on regular forces to assist in transporting students and citizens, directing government vehicles to provide transportation services across Khartoum State, and introducing new regulations to organise fuel distribution.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">According to specialists in the sector, the crisis is primarily attributable to the consequences of the war, which have affected the Khartoum Refinery, difficulties in importing fuel, foreign currency shortages, and disruptions to regional supply chains. Other contributing factors include weaknesses in domestic distribution and oversight, as well as widespread black-market activity.<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">In this context, Al-Fatih Younis, a public transport driver at Sabrein Market in Omdurman, told Mashawir:<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe have been in this situation for an entire week, waiting for long hours from dawn, and sometimes spending the whole day just to obtain a limited fuel allocation that is insufficient. In some cases, we do not receive any fuel at all because the queues have become longer than ever. This situation has caused us financial losses that have negatively affected our livelihoods.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">He added:<\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><\/h4>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMost drivers operate on long-distance routes, which require substantial fuel allocations.
