The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the presence of cholera cases in all 18 states of Sudan, where conflict has persisted for over two years.
In a post on the X platform addressing the humanitarian situation in Sudan, the UN agency reported that more than 96,000 cases of cholera have been recorded since August 2024.
WHO stated that, after more than two years of ongoing conflict, Sudan is facing one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises — characterized by disease, hunger, displacement, and despair.
In addition to the widespread cholera outbreak across all Sudanese states, the organization also warned of the continued spread of measles and malaria.
